OUR PROPOSAL
A GOOD SUPPORT SYSTEM
OBJECTIVES
1-1 Session
Overwhelmed by the imbalance between the workload and the supports available to them may cause high levels of stress and leads to the desire to leave the industry/centre (Cummings, 2017).
With 1 to 1 session with the principal or other educators, one can attain:
1. Stress relief when the issues/challenges are being shared
2. Valuable advice that comes from a knowledgeable and experienced senior
3. Feasible action plans that can take place with the help of the principal/mentor

Resources include:
1. Checklist for principal/mentor
2. Brochure for educators
Checklist for the Principal
Purpose:
To provide a guideline for the principal to lead the session and check on the growth process of educators in the centre.

Acknowledgement of effort
Encouragement board
-
A platform for staffs to write down their words of encouragement to others in the centre.
-
Includes a motivational quote that changes weekly, so that it is refreshing and provides support to the staffs.
-
Limited to staffs in the centre, hence, it is confidential and private for personal centre use.

The Early Childhood (EC) industry is of heavy responsibility and workload, and educators are prone to experience high level of stress. Without encouragement and support, educators will reach emotional exhaustion at a faster pace (Cummings, 2015).
User Manual:
Purpose:
A small guideline to be placed beside the encouragement board.

Comments from Principal:

-
The checklist is detailed and useful. However, it is not an approved document from the company to be used as an assessment tool.
-
It would also be nice for the encouragement board to have teachers write down motivational quotes on the paper as well, instead of just words of encouragement. Whoever feels that they need the motivational quote, they can take the paper for themselves, too.
-
Time allocated to craft and set up materials created were utilised wisely.
